Get Scuba Certified at Ocean Enterprises

By  |

Ocean Enterprises is a local dive shop on Balboa Avenue. You can rent and buy scuba gear, wetsuits, fins, and anything else you could need for your water activities. But the best part of Ocean Enterprises? Their scuba classes. No matter your skill set or your level of comfort in the water, the friendly and passionate instructors work with you to create memories that will last a lifetime.

If you’re just starting out on your scuba journey, you’ll want to take the Open Water Course. Ocean Enterprises has been training new divers in San Diego for more than 30 years. If this has been on your bucket list, or if it’s something you’ve always thought of doing, now is the time! Take an Open Water Diver course and begin your world of exploration underwater. Whether you want to dive with colorful fish, whale sharks, or manta rays, getting your certification as a PADI Open Water Diver gives you the freedom to dive with a buddy anywhere in the world.

Ocean Enterprises has a lot of different schedules to choose from, and the days/times accommodate most situations (evening and weekend classes are offered). When you sign up and make your way to orientation, the staff at Ocean Enterprises immediately make you feel welcome and excited to begin your training (they might even bake you some cookies).

The course starts with paperwork (as any extreme sport would), and then moves onto knowledge checks, quizzes, and a final exam. The extensive testing is meant to keep you safe in the water, and at times it can feel intimidating. The instructors work with you to teach at a pace you’re comfortable with, and they make sure to answer your questions (trust me, you’ll have more than a few) along the way.

After the written tests, you’ll make your way to a pool where you’ll get to know the basics and feel what it’s like to breathe underwater. You’ll learn how to assemble and disassemble all of your diving gear, you’ll learn the different ways to jump in the water with your gear attached to you, and you’ll learn how to gracefully maneuver through the water.

After you’ve honed your skills in the pool, its time to head out in the open water and get your certification. You’ll jump out into the water feeling confident with all of the training you’ve received from the instructors, and you’ll never be alone underwater. Getting scuba certified builds confidence, gives you a reason to travel the world, and allows you to see parts of the world that you never would have had the opportunity to get close to otherwise.

We hope this is something you’ll consider if you’re looking for a way to liven up your world and explore.
