San Diego Theatre Week: Discounts, Cast Talk-Backs, & More!

By  |

The arts are alive in San Diego, and this week top performers are out to prove it. San Diego Performing Arts League (SDPAL) is inviting folks out from Sunday, February 26-Sunday March 5th to enjoy San Diego Theatre Week. From musical theatre to dance to comedy, this event is showcasing performances from around the city.

What started as an idea and trial last year, has now gained more hype and clout with the arts community. The event offers opportunities for local art houses to get involved, putting their best acts in front of an audience who is hungry for live-action theater.

The perks of the event include discounted tickets, a chance to talk with the performers, and offers at the concession stands (the perk at each event varies). Small and large theaters alike gain exposure to their current productions, while also sharing what’s to come.

Freaky Friday

Check out a musical performance of Disney’s Freaky Friday, the contemporary spin written by Bridget Carpenter of “Parenthood” and “Friday Night Lights” and a musical score by Tony Award winner Tom Kitt. The production is available almost every night during Theatre Week, some nights including a beer tasting and live music before the show. Check out this “critic’s choice” at the La Jolla Playhouse.
