This weekend marks the first weekend of Spring, and you can spring into action with what San Diego has to offer. Don’t miss the craft beer festivals, college sports, concerts and more!

Friday, March 22nd

Annual Bankers Hill Art & Craft Beer Festival

The Abbey on Fifth Avenue; 6 to 9 p.m.
Following past years’ sold out events, the Bankers Hill Art & Craft Beer Festival in partnership with the San Diego Brewers Guild will return for its seventh year running this weekend. Taking place throughout the two levels of The Abbey on Fifth Avenue, a historic 10,000-square foot venue, this 21+ event will showcase a range of San Diego craft breweries and Bankers Hill eateries alongside pop-up galleries of local artists’ works and live DJ music, and is expected to draw more than 500 attendees.

Signature American Water Media International Exhibition

Fallbrook Art Center – 103 S. Main Ave., Fallbrook, CA 92028; 10:00 am
The annual Signature American Water Media International Exhibition will be taking place. Enjoy the original art pieces from a variety of water media and watch the colors be brought to life.

Cherry Blossom Week

Japanese Friendship Garden
The annual Cherry Blossom Festival returns! Select vendors will be set up giving guests a sneak peek of what’s to come during the weekend. During the evening, the Inamori Pavilion will be host to various special ticketed programming that include yozakura (viewing cherry blossoms at night), workshops, and demonstrations.

MOWjito Madness

Support Meals on Wheels San Diego County by participating in MOwjito Madness week at the Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant at 11 a.m. Enjoy delicious drinks with $1 from every drink going towards Meals on Wheels.

Sabrina Carpenter

House of Blues; 7:00 pm
Presented by Cricket Wireless, Sabrina Carpenter will be making a stop in San Diego. Her third studio album, Singular: Act I, was released in November 2018.

Laugh Outside

Quartyard; 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.,
Laugh Outside: Live Comedy is a new event at the Quartyard in downtown San Diego. This time, stand-up acts include Nicki Fuchs, Sumukh Torgalkar, and Michael Palascak; host Matt Stanton will keep the show moving. The all-ages, dog-friendly show is free before 7 p.m. with an RSVP ahead of time or $5 after 7 p.m.

Saturday, March 23rd

March for Meals 5K Charity Walk

Liberty Station NTC Park; 8:30 am
Support Meals on Wheels San Diego County’s March for Meals 5K Charity Walk by registering for the walk or donating. Proceeds will help keep seniors safe, nourished, and socialized in their own homes.
Tickets: $35

Annual Butterfly Jungle Event

San Diego Zoo Safari Park; 9 am – 6 pm
Butterfly Jungle at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park features thousands of beautiful butterflies—flying, floating and fluttering in an aviary that also includes exotic birds, lush greenery and flowers. Butterfly Jungle guests are able to walk leisurely among butterflies of all colors, shapes and sizes, take photos and learn more about these remarkable winged creatures. Spend your Saturday refreshing your mind while connecting with nature.

Media Arts Center San Diego invites you to the 26th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival, March 14 to 24. The festival will present over 160 films from Latin America, the United States, and Spain as well as Opening Night and Closing Night Parties, the 4th Annual Sabor Latino – Food, Beer & Wine Festival, Q&A sessions with visiting filmmakers, free student screenings, and more. Audiences will have the rare opportunity to meet filmmakers and actors from all over the world.
