As we count down to the holiday season, the pressure is on to cross everyone off your gift list. Shopping malls are getting more chaotic, and folks are scrambling to buy their last-minute holiday gifts. If you’re not spending this weekend shopping for the holidays, check out what else San Diego has in store for you.

Friday, December 14th

Shop & Hops Holiday Market

Enjoy beer tasting and local shopping, along with free beer tastings from Alta Brewing and Attitude Brewing. There will be over 50 local creators selling their goods, perfect if you are looking for a last minute holiday present. Enjoy the live music, photo booths, and food at Bread & Salt with a $5 ticket. The fun begins at 4:00 pm.

Annual Barrel Tree Lighting Celebration

The annual Tree Lighting Celebration is happening this Friday at the Callaway Vineyard and Winery at 5 pm. Enjoy cookie decorating and hot chocolate, along with discounted wine. Enjoy the holidays with your family in an environment where everyone can join in on the fun.

LeAnne Rimes at Viejas Casino & Resort

‘Tis the season for decking the halls and enjoying holiday music. Grammy award-winning singer LeAnne Rimes is bringing her ‘You and Me and Christmas’ Tour to San Diego this year at Viejas Casino & Resort Oak Ballroom on at 8 p.m. The award-winning singer will take the stage at the Oak Ballroom to perform some of her classic hits including holiday music and her signature song ‘Blue.’ Tickets are available for purchase online HERE. Please note the show is +21.

Christmas Pop Brunch

The Christmas Pop Brunch is a time for you to whip out your favorite holiday sweater and enjoy the beats for DJ Mike White. Enjoy the cocktail menu and the Christmas music while sipping on your favorite breakfast cocktail at Searsucker Gaslamp.

Heal Your Soul

Everyone needs to relax around the holidays and the Alternative Healing Network is holing the “Heal Your Soul” at Queen Bee’s Art and Cultural Center starting at $10. Enjoy yoga, a silent auction, and giveaways that will put an extra spin on the night. This event is from 7:00 – 11:00 pm.

Second Chance Beer Company

With the merriment and libation season in full swing, Second Chance Beer Company is launching their first journey of The Barrel Experience on December 15 with a S’mores-like beer.

S’mores are dropping at both Second Chance locations (Carmel Mountain Ranch and North Park) on December 15 at 12 p.m. This Imperial Oatmeal Stout was aged 22 months in Bourbon barrels and finished with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, lactose, graham cracker, and cinnamon sticks.

Frosty Farm Animal Encounters

There’s no holiday stress here, Frosty Farm will have your whole family in good cheer. This festive event combines hands-on animal encounters with family-friendly activities, which makes it the perfect place to create new memories. In addition to the activities that you can do at your own pace, you will also get a one-hour excursion that is led by a member of our cheerful crew; this includes season’s greetings with a variety of animals and a holiday craft that is yours to keep (or gift). Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade

The 11th Annual Vet+Pet West Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade & Holiday Pet Market returns to the streets of the Gaslamp Quarter. Pet owners and their adorable companions are invited to deck the halls in the festive costumes of their choice and step out on the town during this jolly promenade and FREE pet holiday market beginning under the iconic Gaslamp Quarter Archway and ends at MLK Promenade Park. Day-of registration and check-in will begin at 11:30 am before the parade kicks off at 2 pm. There will be nine fun costume contest categories, along with live music, presentations, and festive fun. Registrants will also receive a holiday goodie bag full of fun samples, toys, coupons, and other gifts for your furry friends as well as entry to the Wag Pet Expo at the SD Convention Center across the street on Saturday, the 15th and Sunday, the 16th. Participation entry in the parade is only $15 per pet and owner duo if you pay in advance and $20 on the day of.

The Nemeth Foundation’s Blanket Drive

The Nemeth Foundation is partnering with the Mulvaney family to conduct a Blanket Drive to comfort the homeless during the holidays. Working locally with the community, the foundation has a goal to reach 1,000 blankets for the homeless, all while giving back during this holiday season. Join this cause until December 28th at 100 East San Marcos Blvd, suite #130.

Stance ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championship

The Stance ISA World Adaptive Surfing Champion allows surfers with physical disabilities and challenges to compete in a friendly competition, Paralympic-style at the La Jolla Shores. The event takes place this Friday at 8 am, as well as Saturday and Sunday at 8 am.

Studio 23: Holiday Magic

All weekend long you can join the artists at Studio 23 for Holiday Magic, the holiday art exhibit at Gallery 23 in Spanish Village. The artwork of 50 local artists will be on display along with refreshments and other forms of art for your enjoyment. The cost is free.

Merry Grinchmas: The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection

Your favorite Christmas story is being brought to life until December 30th at the Exclusive Collections Gallery Solana Beach. Come down for Grinchmas and see the art exhibit of Dr. Seuss inspired work. The event starts at 10 am with free entry.

Letters from the North Pole

If you have a little one at home you won’t want to miss this. The Letters from The North Pole puppet show will be playing at the Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theatre until December 16th. Don’t miss out on the chance to let your little one get giddy for over the holidays. Admission is $5.

Hilton’s Holiday By The Bay

Enjoy the Holiday by the Bay and the two-story ice adventure that will be taking place at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront starting at just $15. Santa Claus will be visiting his Workshop from 7pm – 9pm trimming stockings and taking photos with children. While Mrs.C heats up Claus Kitchen decorating cookies, leading sing-a-longs and reading stories to the little ones. Holiday by the Bay is a Holiday San Diego’s only adventure park. A new holiday tradition for the entire family featuring a two-story ice tubing slide, ice bumper cars, a bucking reindeer ride, gingerbread decorating, stocking trimming, festive fare, craft holiday cocktails and more! A part of your ticket will go towards the United Service Organization to support the military during the holiday season.

Black Kat’s 2018 Year in Review

The Black Kat Theatre’s annual Year in Review will be happening at The Women’s Museum of California until December 29th with tickets starting at $16. Enjoy a night filled with the 2018 newsmakers in an entire comedy show put on just for you.
