Veteran’s Day Events in San Diego
San Diego is a military town, and we all know that honoring this country’s veterans is something that we should do through out the year, not just on 4th of July or Veteran’s Day. This time of year, we can all take a look at what we’re thankful for. This Veterans Day, lets say a special ‘thank you’ to those who protect us year-round.
Veteran’s Day is November 11, 2017, and this weekend there are a few great events where you can show your support and learn more about services being provided for veterans in San Diego.
The San Diego Veteran’s Day Parade, which will be held on November 11th at 11:00am in Downtown. You can see over 4,000 veterans, along with entertainment and floats in honor of military service members. There will also be a special tribute to all the veterans who served in World War II. Be a part of the 31st annual Veteran’s Day Parade and enjoy the beautiful day in San Diego with all of the locals.
You can also show your support at the STM Veteran’s Appreciation Breakfast on November 12th from 12:00pm-3:00pm. The Saint Thomas More Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus will be hosting this special breakfast, and invite all to come and join the celebration. You can purchase tickets with the link above, and book your spot before November 9th. Enjoy a family atmosphere and spend some time networking. There will also be a presentation on Veteran’s Affairs resources and benefits. Experts from VA of North County and a Veterans Affairs Health Care Outreach Specialist have been invited to join as well.
Show your appreciation by attending the 2017 San Diego Country Veteran of the Year Luncheon on November 9th at 11:00am. The exciting event will be held at The Veterans Museum at Balboa Park. There are 4 different categories that veterans will be honored in: Individual Veteran of the Year, Lifetime Achievement in Support of Military Veterans, Non-Profit Organization of the Year, and Corporation of the Year. All of the ticket sales will act as direct donations to The Veterans Museum at Balboa Park. You can learn more about the nominees here.
