Little Italy’s Biggest Party Returns – Ferragosto on Aug. 19

By  |

Amici Park will turn into a Western Village for Little Italy’s biggest party, Ferragosto! Taking on a new theme each year, Ferragosto 2107 will return with a “Wild Western” theme, inviting guests to join the party in their best western attire. Ferragosto is San Diego’s Little Italy own take on the traditional Italian holiday “Feriae Augusti.” The biennial event will be held on Saturday, August 19, from 6:00 p.m. to midnight with a VIP reception starting at 5:00 p.m. Attendees will feel like they are stepping back in time into an old Western film at Little Italy’s Amici Park.

Ferragosto will feature Western themed entertainment, a Western-style BBQ, casino games, a rodeo, live music and more! This year’s Ferragosto will feature Can-Can dancers, a blue grass band, saloon, bull riding and a lot of other surprises. Be prepared to get your grub on, because the event will be catered by some of San Diego’s finest restaurants like Kansas City BBQ, Phil’s BBQ, Civico 1845, Bencotto, Isola Pizza, Pappalecco, Mona Lisa, Caffe Italia and more. Attendees will be served hors d’oeuvres, main dishes, drinks, cocktails and desserts throughout the whole evening.

Guests will be immersed in the “Wild Western” theme, surrounded by old western hotels, convenience stores, a saloon with whiskey tastings and the Kumeyaay Indian Tribe. Festivities will include casino games like poker and roulette, western music and entertainment, and a live auction and raffle.

Ferragosto’s Wild Western benefits the Washington Elementary School Foundation, Our Lady of the Rosary Church and the Little Italy Association. Over the past five events, Ferragosto has raised more than $600k for the three non-profits in the Little Italy neighborhood. So, party the night away knowing it’s for a good cause.

With delicious BBQ, festive entertainment and casino games, it’s sure to be a wild, wild night!
