Depeche Mode, who are scheduled to play Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre tonight with opening act Peter, Bjorn and John, were forced to cancel the show due to orders from the band’s doctor that lead singer Dave Gahan get more rest for his vocals.

Unfortunately for local fans, the band also indicated via their website that there will not be a re-scheduled show for San Diego — as the band cannot fit it into their busy schedule.

“We are incredibly disappointed to not be able to perform for our fans tonight in San Diego,” said Dave Gahan. “We hope to be back soon to play for all our fans in the area.”

Of course, this is something that happens to San Diego and not L.A., as the band plans on putting on their sold out two-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl this weekend as scheduled. But, if its any consolation, their show earlier this week at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View was also canceled.

Fans can get refunds for tickets at the point of purchase.
