Lauren Conrad Welcomes First Child

On July 5 at noon, Lauren Conrad and William Tell welcomed their first born child into the world, and they are thrilled to be parents. Conrad, known for her star role on The Hills, and William Tell, a lawyer in the entertainment industry, are officially mother and father to their new son, Liam James.

Conrad and Tell made an exclusive statement to PEOPLE and it is clear the two are excited.

“We are thrilled to share that we welcomed our son Liam James Tell into our family,” the couple told PEOPLE. “Mom, Dad and baby are doing well. We’re already in love!” Conrad also jokingly admitted that their dogs, Chloe and Fitz, aren’t so sure about the new 6 lb., 14 oz human welcomed into the family.

Conrad and Tell got married back in 2014, and announced the pregnancy over a heartfelt Instagram post on New Years. The photo was a picture of a sonogram and she captioned it with, “Happy New Year! I have a feeling 2017 is going to be the best year yet…”

If you’re wondering where Conrad and Tell got the adorable name for their son, Liam James, sources told E! that Liam is a shortened version of William. However, E! also recognized that Liam starts with the letter, L, likewise to Lauren. Furthermore, Liam’s middle name James is the same middle name as William’s.

Conrad also told Fit Pregnancy and Baby that she truly preferred a boy earlier this year, considering she was a tomboy herself as a child.

“I really wanted a boy,” she told the magazine for their July cover story. “My husband kept saying, ‘We just want a healthy baby.’ And I’d say, ‘But a boy would be nice!’”

Clearly, Conrad got her wish yesterday by birthing her new adorable little boy, Liam James. Congratulations and good luck to the happy couple and first-time parents.
