Johnny Depp Visits Children’s Hospital as Jack Sparrow

By  |

Johnny Depp has been in Vancouver filming ‘Richard Says Goodbye,’ and decided to make the children of B.C. Children’s Hospital very happy during his off time. He transformed into one of his most significant roles of his big screen career, Jack Sparrow, and visited the children at the hospital on Monday afternoon for five and a half hours. In the span of five and a half hours, he never once broke character.

According to the employees at the hospital, the 54-year-old actor spent his time at the hospital visiting every patient one-on-one. From new born babies to teenagers, Depp took the time out of his day to meet with every patient. Apparently, this isn’t the first time Depp has done this. In fact, while filming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in Australia in 2015, he spent a great deal of time visiting children in Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

One child of the B.C. Children’s hospital said, “I didn’t wake up this morning knowing I was going to meet Johnny Depp today!” Through all of the hardships that these children endure everyday, Depp made many of them feel joy amidst all of their egregious obstacles.

One mother of a 7-year-old in the hospital said, “He never broke character once and was so generous with his time. He was truly here for the kids and it brought tears to my eyes to see how special he made each one feel.” Depp called this specific 7-year-old  ‘First Mate’ Madison.

Depp will be in Vancouver up until Aug. 25 when the filming of ‘Richard Says Goodbye’ is expected to end. This film will be out in 2018 and also stars  Zoey Deutch. We will let you know if there are further updates on this film led by the generous actor Johnny Depp. Stay tuned.
