James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke With Ed Sheeran

The latest episode of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke series featured one of the most popular celebrities in the nation who is typically known for his melodic and soulful beat, Ed Sheeran. To say it’s worth watching, is an understatement. Sheeran’s open vulnerability, beautiful singing voice, and talent on the guitar are just a few of the reasons why. Coden and Sheeran’s carpool ride consisted of a mix of Sheeran’s old and new music, a lot of Maltese candy and some hilarious yet unexpected stories.

During the ride, Ed Sheeran showed his vocal chops by the multi layer of old and new songs. James Corden, who never ceases to amaze us, kept up with Sheeran and demonstrated his vocal ability more than ever before during this episode. Together, the pair busted out, “Castle on a Hill,” “Love Yourself,” “Sing,” and more classics composed by Sheeran.

At the beginning of the car ride, Sheeran expressed his issues with cell-phones and confirmed that he indeed got rid of his phone and is only responding to emails now. He respectably said, “I’d wake up every morning and there would be like 50 messages and none of them would say ‘hey, how are you doing?’ he said. “It’d be like, ‘Can I have this? Can you lend me this? Can you do this? Can I get this?’ and it was fine at the beginning but then it just got really really draining.” After taking time off to travel and write music, without his phone, he currently feels like he is in a much better place socially.

Afterwards, the ride became a bit more lighthearted. Corden asked him about his ability to stuff 55 Maltesers in his mouth. You won’t believe it until you see it, but Sheeran seriously stuffed 55 Maltesers into his mouth during the ride. Be prepared to laugh, and to laugh hard.Later, he shared with Corden that he was recently in Tokyo with Justin Bieber. The two went to a dive bar and somehow, ended up on a golf course. Bieber put a golf ball in his mouth, and Sheeran attempted to hit the golf ball out of his mouth. But, Sheeran accidentally hit him right across the face. Sheeran said, “I cracked him across the face. He was actually really cool about it.'”

At the end of the Carpool Karaoke ride, Sheeran ended by chatting about his guitar that he takes everywhere with him. Surprisingly, he ended up opening up about being “ugly” as a child and using it as a crutch to get him out of awkward situations. Sheeran even said that he feels “naked” without it.
