Entertainer Quickie: Elizabeth Edwards, John Lennon, and Snooki make the news

John Lennon

On the 30th anniversary of Lennon’s murder, fans everywhere are remembering the Beatles and the singer for his talent and his impact. Thirty years ago today — on December 8, 1980 — John Lennon was murdered outside of his New York apartment building by a deranged fan. Rolling Stone has released the full text of Lennon’s final interview with the magazine as a tribute.

Elizabeth Edwards passes

Edwards lost her battle with cancer Tuesday night at the age of 61. She was diagnosed 6 years ago as her husband, former Senator John Edwards campaigned for the White House. She will be buried Saturday in Raleigh, N.C. There will be no public visitation before the funeral. She is expected to be buried in a private ceremony in Oakwood Cemetery, where her son, Wade, is buried.

Snooki and the NYE Ball Drop

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, 23, has agreed to crawl into a ball that will drop in New York City’s Times Square at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Other Jersey Shore castmembers will make an appearance on MTV’s New Year’s Bash, hosted by comedian Whitney Cummings.

Celine Dion Twins Make First Media Appearance

International singing sensation Celine Dion gave birth to twins on October 23 and is gracing the cover of People Magazine this week to show them off. The fraternal twins Nelson and Eddy joined  Dion, 42, husband Rene Angelil, 68, and 9-year-old son Rene-Charles.
