The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind – Netflix

Based on a true story, The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind follows a 13-year old boy as he tries to save his village and family from famine by building a wind turbine. The film has picked up quite the buzz at festivals like Sundance, and with Academy-Award winning actor Chiwetel Ejiofor at the helm, it’s looking like this one will be a memorable title.

Triple Frontier – Netflix

With a star-studded cast, Triple Frontier is shaping up to be the action flick of the year. Starring Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Pedro Pascal, and Garret Hedlund, Triple Frontier follows a group of former US Special Forces operatives as they attempt to pull off a heist from one of the most dangerous drug cartels.

The Highwaymen – Netflix

Think Bonnie and Clyde but from the point of view of the police trying to catch the infamous gangsters. Two Texas Rangers, played by Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson, band together to use their wit and skills to end the pair’s crime spree across the country. Kathy Bates also joins the cast as Miriam Ferguson, the first female governor of Texas.

The Irishman – Netflix

This Martin Scorcese film is one of the most anticipated films of the year. If you’re a fan of classic gangster films, this is one you won’t want to miss. Starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, and Al Pacino, The Irishman follows a mob hitman as he recalls his possible involvement in the murder of Jimmy Hoffa.

The King – Netflix

Timothee Chalamet stars as King Henry V in this Netflix period drama. After the unexpected death of his brother, Henry – known to his friends as Hal – ends up on the throne in his early 20s. Chalamet is joined by Joel Egerton, Robert Pattinson, and Ben Mendelsohn.

Cold War – Prime Video

This historical period drama film made its rounds at this year’s Academy Awards. Cold War was nominated for three Oscars, and now the film will be available on Amazon Prime. The film, shot in silky black and white, features marvelous performances and a story that is unforgettable. It had a limited run in movie theatres, but it will be available for streaming next month.
