Summer Movies in the Park is back this summer
Little can compare with the feeling of relaxing with friends on a summer evening in San Diego. The County Department of Parks and Recreation is providing people all over the county with some outdoor entertainment by kicking off another summer of Summer Movies in the Park. This program provides family fun movies like Despicable Me, adventures like Captain America, and classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s to be viewed for free at locations all across the county.
Many are looking for ways to have fun this summer without shelling out big bucks for entertainment and Summer Movies in the Park is a great way to achieve that. County Board of Supervisors Chairman, Ron Roberts, said, These free screenings provide a great way to enjoy the summer months and save a little money in the process.” All you have to do is grab your favorite movie snacks and a blanket to curl up and watch some great movies.
The movies are shown on a 32-foot inflatable widescreen in high-quality digital format. This year the movies will be running from June to September, starting at dusk at each location. The program takes advantage of the warm summer nights in San Diego and the movies are the kind that the whole family can enjoy.
This is the largest free movie event in the county and includes screenings in San Diego, El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, National City, Oceanside, and Poway. It even includes two screenings at the U.S.S Midway Museum. The wide selection of parks allows almost everyone in the county to make it to one location or another over the summer.
The 2012 season has already started so don’t hesitate to check out the list of more than 50 different movies and their locations by clicking here. This is one summer event you won’t want to miss.
