If your vagina could speak, what would it say? Check out The Vagina Monologues at The Moxie Theatre this weekend for a hilarious show that also strives to raise money and awareness to stop violence against women and girls. All proceeds are donated to the Bella Luna Educational Foundation and the East County Family Justice Center.

SATURDAY MARCH 6, 2010

The oldest kite festival for children in the United States, the 62nd annual Ocean Beach Kite Festival is happening this Saturday 3/06/10. Come out for a FREE full day of festivities including parades, arts and crafts, kite making, and food! This event is guaranteed to keep the kids happy, and the adults are sure to tap into their inner child again.

John Leguizamo gets up close and personal in his Diary of a Madman at the La Jolla Playhouse where he speaks about his life and past experiences in an uncensored and explosive manner. Born in Bogota, Columbia and raised in Queens, New York, John recounts his past memories and discusses what it was like working on the set of Moulin Rouge, Ice Age, My Name is Earl, and several other shows and films.

SUNDAY MARCH 7, 2010

Laughter is the best remedy! The Laugh for Recovery Comedy Show at the Belly Up Tavern is raising money for individuals and families who have been impacted by mental illness and substance abuse. Mental Health Systems presents the show with performances by Chris “Kid” Reid, Chris Clobber and Shayma Tash with Bob Murphy. Come support a great cause, and get a good laugh out of it at the same time. This is a 21+ event.
