Pick Your Perfect Pumpkin This Fall at These Local Pumpkin Patches

Fall is approaching…which means its almost time to find your perfect pumpkin. We have put together a list of several family-friendly pumpkin patches, full of fun activities for all to enjoy.

Bates Nut Farm

15954 Woods Valley Road, Valley Center, CA 92082.

Bates Nut Farm is an all-time favorite for San Diego residents. This farm, which has been around for over 50 years, has plenty of activities to do year-round. Between September 22nd – October 31st, Bates Nut Farm a variety of pumpkins flourish across their 5000-acre farm. Other attractions include a farm zoo, a corn maze, boutiques, a candy shop, and plenty of picnic tables to spend an afternoon with loved ones. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, Bates Nut Farm also hosts live entertainment, food trucks, a slide, and other outdoor activities. Grab your wheelbarrow and prepare to pick out your favorite fall decor. The farm is open Monday-Friday 9am-5: 30 pm and weekends from 8:30am-6pm.

Julian Mining Company

4444 State Hwy 78 Julian/Wynola, CA 92036

Julian not only makes amazing pies, but they also have a fabulous pumpkin patch. Julian Mining Company opens its pumpkin patch on September 22 and will run until October 28. Their pumpkin patch consists of apple picking, hayrides, cider pressing, archery, tomahawk throwing, and a petting zoo. Julian Mining Company is the perfect excuse for a day trip to explore the outskirts of San Diego county. The hours are Saturday 10-5 pm and Sunday 12-5 pm, no reservation needed.

Mountain Valley Ranch

842 Highway 78, Ramona, CA, 92065

Mountain Valley Ranch, located in Ramona, offers a seasonal pumpkin patch opening on September 21 and will run through Halloween Day. Mountain Valley Ranch will be open 7 days a week between 9am-6pm, with free admission to the public. Enjoy an assortment of pumpkins, gourds, a corn maze, and much more outdoor activities. Please note that hayrides and pony rides will be available only on the weekends.

Pumpkin Station

There are several pumpkin stations locations available in San Diego County during the fall months. The locations consist of Del Mar, Rancho Bernardo, Mission Valley, National City, and Bonita Farm. Kiddie rides, giant slides, petting zoos, game zones, corn maze, school tours, and party packages will be available at each pumpkin station. All locations will have free parking and admission. Pumpkins are priced differently based on size. Typically, the pumpkin stations will run between September 27th and October 31st. Hours are typically Sunday through Thursday 9 am to 7 pm. Friday and Saturday 9 am to 9 pm.

The Farm Stand West

2115 Miller Avenue, Escondido, CA 92025

The Farm Stand West, located in north county is full of tasty produce and an amazing seasonal pumpkin patch. This pumpkin patch strives to create a fun and friendly environment for all ages. Every year The Farm Stand hosts a fall festival that includes hayrides, pumpkin picking, food and much more! The fall festival will take place on October 26th and 27th.

Lavender Hill Pumpkins

1509 East Mission Road, Fallbrook, CA 92028 (just off the I-15).

Lavender Hill Pumpkins, located in Fallbrook, is a charming, family-owned pumpkin farm. Their pumpkins are organically grown and watered from a well on the farm. This year’s crop will have roughly ten thousand pumpkins, ranging from all sizes. No dogs are allowed on the field, except for service dogs.
