Experience the 10th Annual Taste of Little Italy on June 13
San Diego’s most iconic culinary hub, Little Italy, is hosting its 10th Annual Taste of Little Italy, presented by Birra Moretti on Wednesday, June 13 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Many notable restaurants, cafes, wineries and breweries will be opening their doors for an evening that food lovers won’t want to miss. San Diego natives and visitors will get a chance to taste bites from nearly 40 of Little Italy’s one-of-a-kind eateries as they offer samples of their most mouthwatering plates including appetizers, entrees, desserts, beverages and more.
“San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood is excited to host the most flavorful event of the summer and celebrate its 10th annual event,” said Chris Gomez, district manager of the Little Italy Association. “Visitors and locals will be able to sample nearly 20 top eateries in the neighborhood all in one night, trying each restaurant’s most popular dishes, including appetizers, entrees, desserts and beverages.”
All are welcome to walk along Little Italy’s scenic sidewalks surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees, while enjoying delicious bites, sipping on tasty beverages and listening to live music playing throughout the evening. Attendees can also stroll through the 48-square-block neighborhood and take in breathtaking views of San Diego’s famous Embarcadero.
For the first time, foodies who are 21 and over will have the opportunity to sample authentic Italian brews provided by presenting sponsor, Birra Moretti in the Piazza della Famiglia, Little Italy’s new 10,000-square-foot European-style piazza located in the “heart” of the neighborhood.
Attendees can choose from two different Taste Passport routes, a South and North Route, that offer different but an equally enjoyable selection of restaurants options. Both routes showcase over 20 participating eateries that will share their culinary offerings with attendees. Each ticketholder will receive a Taste Passport, a guide mapping out all participating restaurants on their route and the eateries’ menu offerings. Taste Passports will be stamped by each restaurant the ticketholder visits when they try a sample. Tickets are $40 per route before the event and $45 at the door. Individuals interested are encouraged to buy their tickets beforehand because tickets sell quickly.
The South Route includes notable restaurants like Ballast Point, Barbusa, Burger Lounge, The Crack Shack, Herb & Wood, Ironside Fish & Oyster, Juniper & Ivy, Nolita Hall, Prepkitchen and Puerto La Boca. The North Route includes Born and Raised, Buon Appetito/Sogno di Vino, Civico 1845, Craft & Commerce, Davanti Enoteca, Filippi’s Pizza Groto, Mimmo’s Italian Village, Nonna, Petrini’s, Queenstown Public House and many more.
