Must-See Panels at Comic-Con 2019
Possibly San Diego’s most iconic event, Comic-Con is happening this weekend in the Gaslamp Quarter. For five consecutive days, downtown San Diego will be transformed into a fantasy wonderland as people will gather from all over in their craziest cos-play looks. With this fun-filled festival comes plenty of incredible panels that we’re all pretty excited about. With chances to see all-new happenings in the best TV shows and movies out right now, Comic-Con is every sci-fi lover and super-hero fan’s dream. It’s 2019, and nerd is the new cool. If you’ll be at Comic-Con this year, here are the most exciting panels you can’t miss.
Westworld
Hall H – Saturday, July 20 at 1:15 p.m.
HBO’s sci-fi epic series is back, and it’s shaping up to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen from the show. With newcomers to the series like Aaron Paul, expect the cast to be there to chat about the upcoming mysteries of Westworld, and what season 3 has in store for us.
Game of Thrones
Hall H – Friday, July 19 at 5:30 p.m.
Season 8 of GOT was surrounded with so much controversy, it was a pretty big bummer for fans. Say what you will about the final season of the show (it sucked, let’s be honest), the cast of one of the greatest shows ever will be at SDCC for a final goodbye. The contentious showrunners David Benioff and D.B Weiss will be there as well, so things might get a little dicey, but nevertheless, it should be a good one.
The Expanse
Indigo Ballroom – Saturday, July 20 at 1:00 p.m.
One of the best, if not the finest sci-series out right now, will be at SDCC as it nears the premiere of its highly-anticipated season 4. The show was saved from the brink of destruction by Amazon after SyFy drop the cancel hammer on it, and fans could not be more delighted. The Expanse panel will be a reunion cast of stars, from past and present, and even better, we’ll finally get a trailer for the upcoming season.
Marvel Studios
Hall H – Saturday, July 20 at 5:15 p.m.
Perhaps the most anticipated of all panels is Marvel Studios, fresh off the release of the highly successful Avengers: End Game and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Marvel Studios will be hosting a 90-minute panel about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Expect to hear updates on Black Widow, The Eternals, and maybe even a peek at the new Avengers. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will be in attendance, along with a yet-to-be-revealed list of surprise panelists.
His Dark Materials
Hall H – Thursday, July 18 at 4:45 p.m.
Seeming to fill the void of fantasy shows on HBO, Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials will be pulling back the curtain on this upcoming show. Expect to learn more about the fantasy saga, and maybe even a new trailer. This is our best chance yet at deciding whether His Dark Materials will be the must-watch fantasy show.
The Witcher
Hall H – Friday, July 19 at 2:15 p.m.
This video game adaption is one of the most anticipated new series coming out, with Henry Cavill playing Geralt, a monster hunter with a really big sword that is capable of kicking some serious ass. But seriously, The Witcher is shaping up to a knock-out-of-the-park for Netflix, and this panel will give attendants their best look at this upcoming show. Expect a teaser trailer and a release date.
Star Trek Universe
Hall H – Saturday, July 20 at 11:30 a.m.
Star Trek is really shining lately, with a slew of successful films and a new series, and now, CBS is going all-in with a bunch of new projects. So many, in fact, CBS is lumping all of them into one long panel. They’ll be sharing news from Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Short Treks, and the highly inspired Picard Show, which will see Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his role as one of the most beloved characters of all time: Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
