The Insider Look: What’s New with La Mesa Oktoberfest

The longstanding tradition of La Mesa Oktoberfest returns Friday, September 29th through Sunday, October 1st to the tree lined avenues of the La Mesa Village. This FREE all ages event draws over 100,000 people from across San Diego for three days of fun, music, delectable food, and of course – plenty of beer!  The community of La Mesa has joined together to revive the festival by bringing back elements of time honored favorites as well as introducing new interactive and immersive experiences for attendees to enjoy.

Take Oktoberfest as a VIP: A new addition to the La Mesa Oktoberfest lineup this year is the option to purchase limited VIP Royalty Passes. For $5, attendees can enjoy speedy VIP entry to the beer garden, skip the line, and have access to additional restrooms. For $18, attendees can enjoy all the $5 perks and 2 frosty beers. The ultimate VIP option, just $25, includes the 2 beers, commemorative stein, and chicken hat!

In Good Spirits: Love Oktoberfest but don’t love filling your stein with beer? The Oktoberfest Craft Beer & Spirit Garden will be serving up creative cocktails featuring local Cutwater Spirits and other distilleries to have you dancing the chicken dance in no time! Also in this garden will be giant board games and non-stop music.

Get Inspired: Get more out of the Oktoberfest experience by enjoying free classes and workshops throughout the weekend at the Inspiration Station. From Laughter Yoga to pottery, macramé, and succulent displays, there’s a little something for everyone! Some workshops have a small fee to cover material expenses.

Life in the Fast Lane: Car enthusiasts and those new to the passion will be intrigued by the display of beautiful classic and modern German makes such as, Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes and BMW in the Autos von Deutschland (German Car Show). This block of automobile wonder will showcase the best in engineering creativity & aesthetics as well as layers of refinement & ingenuity.

For the Kinder (Children): Kinder of all ages will be entertained throughout the weekend in the interactive Children’s Playground with art & crafts, contests and special entertainment. There will be a carnival with games, rides, and a ferris wheel for the young and young at heart.
