Holiday events this weekend in San Diego
The holidays are a wonderful time and most of us want to do everything we can to soak up the season. From pet parade’s to holiday decorated boats and craft fairs, we have the scoop on the best holiday events happening this weekend in San Diego.
Garden of Lights
When: December 8th -23rd
Where: San Diego Botanic Garden
Watch the Garden of Lights transform into a dazzling Winter Wonderland. Santa, thousands of twinkling lights, and holiday cheer. What more could you want.
Holiday in the Village
When: December 10th, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Downtown La Mesa
Kick off the holidays with characters from “The Polar Express”, “The Nutcracker, and “A Snow White Christmas” to impress kids of all ages. Bundle up in your wackiest sweater and be transported to the north pole.
Makers Arcade Holiday Fair: 100 Local Artists
When: December 10th, 11 a.m.
Where: The Port Pavilion
This holiday extravaganza will feature 100 local artists to show off their one-of-a-kind handcrafted goods including jewelry, ceramics, stationary, clothing, and home goods. The event will include a photo booth, music, and cocktails.
Liberty Station Holiday Block Party
When: December 10th, 7 p.m.
Where: Liberty Station
Carolers, Santa, and shopping, what more could you want. From pop-up markets, to kid friendly adventures, Liberty Station’s Block Party will be one for the books.
Holiday by the Bay Opening Ceremony
When: December 10th – January 2nd
Where: Hilton Bayfront Hotel
Holiday by the Bay kicks off with ice-skating, delicious cookies, and fun arts and crafts. The ceremony opens up for a season of cheer, relaxation, and spending time with friends and family.
Mission Bay Christmas Boat Parade of Lights
When: December 10th, 6 p.m.
Where: Mission Bay
View beautifully decorated boats sail by, in the Boat Parade of Lights. Watch in amazement as brightly lit boats cruise around the bay in one the best parades of the year.
Oceanside Harbor Parade of Lights
When: December 10th
Where: Oceanside Harbor
Be enchanted as sail boats and dinghy’s get spruced up in their best holiday decorations in the Oceanside Harbor.
Pets on Parade
When: December 11th, 9 a.m.
Where: Carlsbad Village Faire
Join the wagging dog rescue for their annual charity event. Visit Santa with your four legged friends, participate in raffles, and of course, watch the 20-minute Pets on Parade.
Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade
When: December 11th, 3 p.m.
Where: Hilton Gaslamp Quarter Park
Deck the paws with bells of holly. Dress your favorite companion up in their best holiday gear and join in on this festive Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade expo.
Parade of Lights
When: December 11th, 5 p.m.
Where: San Diego Bay
Visit this annual holiday tradition of over 80 boats lavishly decorated for all to see. Sit back, relax and watch the beautiful sale boats slowly cruise by.
Polar Express Family Day
When: December 11th, 11 a.m.
Where: San Diego Model Railroad Museum
