Fig Tree Cafe: Dinner For Two on Valentine’s Day

By  |

Fig Tree Café opened in the fall of 2008 with owner Johan Engman’s simple mission rooted in the creation of an inviting and genuine dining experience. Since the first location in Pacific Beach, Fig Tree Café has opened two additional locations in Hillcrest and Liberty Station. In Hillcrest, Fig Tree Café features an urban modern open kitchen concept, enabling patrons to observe the culinary expertise. The Liberty Station location boasts a large outdoor patio area, fully embracing the Southern California weather.

Couples can enjoy the fresh flavors at Fig Tree Café in Liberty Station on February 14th as they are offering a three-course menu this Valentine’s Day. The special pre-fixe menu is $85 for two, and includes one starter, two entrees, one dessert and two glasses of champagne.

For the first course, couples can enjoy a variety of starters such as the Baby Beets and Burrata Salad mixed with heirloom beets, burrata, and spiced pecans, Bone Marrow seasoned with sea salt, roasted garlic and served with artisan bread, Roasted Kurobuta Pork Belly served with cheesy polenta, berry jam and pork jus, Crispy Eggplant with a lemon vinaigrette, baby arugula, goat cheese, olives, and balsamic glaze, the Crab Stack with remoulade, avocado, mango salsa, cilantro, and ciabatta, or the Soup of the Day (ask server for details).

As for the second course, couples get to choose from an assortment of entrees such as the Kurobuta Pork Chop served with a potato puree and roasted baby corn or the almond crusted Fish of the Day served with wild rice and buttered in a frangelico/banana butter sauce (ask server for details on the type of fish). Other options include the Portobello Napoleon served with heirloom tomato, roasted eggplant, artichoke hearts, bell pepper, white wine, lemon, and capers, the Lobster Ravioli served with shrimp, scallops, spinach, shaved asparagus and topped with a lemon cilantro cream sauce, or the 14 oz. NY Steak served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes in a wild mushroom merlot sauce.

To end the romantic evening with a sweet surprise, couples can choose their dessert from options such as the Crème Brulee made with the house cold brew coffee and served with raspberries or the Tiramisu, a sponge cake with espresso and coffee layers with soft mascarpone cheese, and dusted with cocoa powder. You can also choose from the Limoncello, an organic lemon custard with light mascarpone vanilla ice cream, or the Hazelnut Crunch and Chocolate Cake.

On top of the Valentine’s Day three-course menu, all Fig Tree Café locations will be offering a free half order of Valentine’s French toast with the purchase of 2 entrees. Fig Tree Café also has February-themed specials available all month, including the Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberry Latte ($6.50) and the Floral Mimosa Flight, four tasting sizes of mimosas ($14.00).
