Black’s newest album was released in the United Kingdom in July 2009, and hit American stores on Tuesday. Although very popular in the United Kingdom, this singer/songwriter/producer hopes to expand his presence in the United States as well.

Black recorded the album in the basement of his Paris apartment, playing with different musical genres, such as American hip-hop and English pop music. He was inspired by sample-heavy songs by the Beastie Boys and modern mash-ups by Girl Talk and 2 Many DJ’s.

The album includes hit single “Symphonies” featuring Kid Cudi. You may recognize the mash-up of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize” on this single.
