What’s Coming to Netflix in August

After our collective sigh since hearing that Friends and The Office have reached their end on Netflix, the streaming service is seriously gearing up this summer to bring a whole slew of material. With over 55 new original shows and movies, and a healthy addition of other content, August is shaping up to be a fantastic month for streaming fans. Here are the titles you need to keep an eye out for. 

The Rocky Series – August 1

Widely considered to be the finest boxing films of all time, now you have the chance to completely binge the entire series.

Basketball or Nothing – August 2 – Netflix Original 

A documentary following the Chinle High Basketball team in Arizona’s Navajo Nation. It details the team’s quest as they strive to win a state championship and bring pride to their small community. 

Patriot Act – August 4 – Netflix Original 

In what has quickly become one of the realest figures in the touching on global issues, Hasan Minhaj is coming for back season 4 of the Patriot Act. Expect Minhaj to bring a fresh and unique perspective on politics, culture, and new, all rolled into a fun comedy series. 

Glow Season 3 – August 9 – Netflix Original 

Set in the ’80s of Los Angeles, a crew of misfit women reinvents themselves as the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. This surprise hit show is brought to us from the same people behind Orange Is the New Black.

The 100 Season 6 – August 14 

Perhaps one of the greatest post-apocalyptic shows on right now, The 100 is coming back to Netflix with season 6 in all of its dystopian glory. 

Mindhunter Season 2 – August 16 – Netflix Original 

This show was a complete surprise when it first premiered in 2017. Loosely following the lives of the FBI’s first serial killer profilers, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the minds of society’s most ruthless and violent members. 

American Factory – August 21 – Netflix Original 

From The Barack and Michelle Obama’s production, this documentary explores the clash of Chinese owners and American employees at an Ohio factory. This should provide a fascinating insight into a growing problem of clashing cultures among the American workforce. 

Million Pound Menu – August 27 – Netflix Original 

Don’t worry, we didn’t forget about all you foodies. This new cooking show has next-gen restaurateurs competing for the chance to open their own pop-up eateries in hopes of impressing the public. 

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance – August 30 – Netflix Original 

Fans of this fantasy classic have been highly anticipating the release of this series. Showing off incredibly unique animation, The Dark Crystal could be one of the best fantasies shows to hit Netflix yet.
