The Return of Modern Family

By  |

‘Modern Family’ debuted back in 2009 and ever since then, it has been one of the most popular (and hilarious) TV shows ever to be aired on ABC. There have already been 8 seasons that earned plenty of awards and other titles of recognition, and it’s coming back for a ninth season. We don’t think that the stories in ‘Modern Family’ are anywhere near over.

That being said, one of the co-creators did mention that ‘Modern Family’ might stop at 10 seasons. “Our original goal was to just stay on the air,” Steve Levitan disclosed. “But after awhile though we may be in control our own fate, and 10 sounded like a nice round number.”

‘Modern Family’ actually scored a renewal for two seasons in May, so the cast and crew are guaranteed to make it to ten seasons, at the least. That being said, the show may potentially run for longer. We have our fingers crossed that they decide to “just stay on the air,” but 10 seasons might be the most believable route for the story line of the popular sitcom. Luckily, the producers have a long time to figure out how to keep viewers interested and the storyline as plausible as possible.

Ariel Winter wasted no time in celebrating the filming of season 9 by the looks of her latest and revealing Instagram post. She flashed the camera and displayed some “underboob” in a body-positive boomerang Instagram post. Her caption for the photo was, “First day back filming #ModernFamily season 9″ complete with a unicorn emoji. She wore dark high waisted jeans and a cut off white tank top. Winter is clearly happy to be returning as Alex Dumphy on the sitcom everyone knows and loves.

Season 9 will officially come to your home screens on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the premiere with SD Entertainer.
