New Netflix Comedy – Disenchantment

By  |

Matt Groening’s new comedy called, ‘Disenchantment,’ is expected to come to Netflix this coming 2018. Since the series is from the creator of “Futurama” and “The Simpsons’ we can expect a lot of laughs from this upcoming adult fantasy.

Groening explores the life of the central character, Princess Bean, who lives in her home of “Dreamland.” Dreamland is a medieval kingdom and Bean has a serious drinking problem. Bean is also surrounded by her companion, Eflo, and her personal demon, Luci, during the series. Furthermore, the kingdom consists of many mythical creatures that this trio must face; such as, ogres, sprites, trolls, walruses, harpies and imps.

Groening put simply that ‘Disenchantment,’ is about “life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of  suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you.” Sounds like this type of humor is exactly what we need.

There is a very impressive cast to look forward to for this series. In fact, Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon, and Eric Andre, will make up the voices for the starring trio. Other voices of ‘Disenchantment’ include Billy West, John DiMaggio,Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, David Herman, Matt Berry, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, Jeny Batten and Lucy Montgomery.

The series is going to be produced by the ULULU Company for Netflix and animation is being done by the Rough Draft Studios. In addition to Groening, Josh Weinstein will help in executive producing ‘Disenchantment.’

Though there has been a lot of rumors regarding this new show for a while now, we are excited that it’s finally going to come to life. Also, Netflix is excited to add another animated show to their selection of movies and TV shows. We will let you know if/when a trailer comes out for this new adult fantasy series coming out in 2018.
