New Pirates of the Caribbean Trailer: Short, And Anything But Sweet

By  |

Another trailer for the new ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales‘ came out and did not disappoint. Only 30 seconds long, the trailer was full of action, anticipation, and the hype for the film to hit the theaters is higher than ever because more favorites from the original cast revealed.

Even though the trailer was short, its eerie and dark tone enhanced by the anticipative background drumming and mysterious female narration was enticing. The narrator whispered, “The dead has taken combat of the sea, searching for a girl, a pearl, and a sparrow.” The trailer dramatically finished with the antagonistic Captain Salazar emphasizing, “dead men tell no tales.”

Most importantly, however, the trailer finally showed a short glimpse of who we’ve all been anxiously waiting to see: Orlando Bloom. Bloom was unfortunately only seen for a brief moment, acting as Will Turner, and maliciously pointing his hand at a woman.

Bloom’s last appearance in the film series was the 2007 ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End’ when he left Elizabeth Swan (played by Kiera Knightly) behind because he had to involuntarily captain the ghost ship. Considering this is Bloom’s first appearance out of the four trailers out, and he opted out of the last film titled ‘Stranger Tides,’ it is unclear how much we will see of Bloom in this film. Nevertheless, some Bloom is better than no Bloom.

On the other hand, we are expected to see the other actors featured in the trailer often. Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem and the beloved Johnny Depp are just a few names to get excited for.

‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales’ action packed plot and entertaining cast members qualified it to potentially be one of the best films in the franchise. Finally, the film hits the big screens May 26, 2017 and SD Entertainer tells no tales.
