Looking for the next big challenge to your physical and mental fortitude? San Diego has plenty of awesome 5K and 10K opportunities coming up for you to do just that. Check out these upcoming events that could be a great chance to come together with the community in the pursuit of achieving your fitness goals.
Spartyka Wounded Warrior 5K Run/Walk – August 31
Come out in support of our nation’ss Warriors at this 5K event. Be sure to bring your patriotic pride, as this event is held in honor of our country’s brave soldiers who have served. The goal for this event is to raise awareness and show support for the men and women have served in the United States military, along with the Wounded Veterans and Gold Star Families organizations.
The Aloha Run – September 8
The Aloha Run is a fun and festive Hawaiian-themed 5K/10K complete with island-inspired music and gorgeous views of the scenic bayside of San Diego. After finishing, participants get to celebrate at a luau party complete with Tahitian dancers, live music, photo opportunities, and more!
2019 Rock the Bay San Diego Triathlon – September 8
This is the only triathlon held in San Diego featuring Olympic and sprint distances with a Rockin theme. With rock band and music playing live on the course, this event is sure to get you pumped up and in the competitive spirit.
Battle of the Boxes at lululemon Fashion Valley – September 15
Come out to Lululemon in Fashion Valley to participate in a Crossfit Competition between local gyms in the area. Featuring an in-store workout, be ready to work up a sweat and see some good old fashioned competition.
One Love 8th Annual Charity Yoga Event – September 21
Whether you’re a yoga enthusiast or a first-timer, the One Love event is something that everyone can have fun with. This giant outdoor yoga class will also feature a live concert by Trevor Hall, live talks, and a Wellness Garden, complete with massages, acupuncture, and reiki.
Be The Change 5K – September 21
Come out and enjoy some of the best scenic views in all of San Diego at this 5K that is held to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, along with Caterina’s Club and the Gary Sinise Foundation. The event is kid, dog, and stroller friendly, so don’t be shy to come out! Participants will receive a goodie bag, and the race will be followed by a Wellness Fair.
San Diego Cove to Harbor Coastal Marathon – September 21
Best for experienced endurance enthusiasts, the Cove to Harbor Marathon will feature 26.2 miles of San Diego’s coast with a special “urban hiking adventure.” The marathon will be led by veteran endurance athletes and CNN Heroes who founded the Project Athena Foundation. Come out and participate among the Survivors of these foundations while raising awareness and funds for their support.
Fiesta Margarita & Beer Run – September 22
Who said getting active couldn’t include some extracurricular activities? In this case, we’re talking beer and tequila, of course. This super easy and flat course will feature plenty of beer, tequila shots, margaritas, tacos, and more!
