San Diego is serious about its yoga. Whether you’re strolling through Balboa Park or Ocean Beach, you’re bound to see a group of yogis getting their flow on. The hobby is abundant and with the many variations of practice, newcomers are easily welcomed in any given class.

September is National Yoga Month, so there’s plenty of exciting events taking place around San Diego. Yoga has become as much of a community activity as it is a personal development pursuit. Check out these upcoming events that are perfect for celebrating your love for Yoga. 

Blissful Goat Yoga – September 1 

Stars Farm, San Marcos

You read that right. Goat yoga is curious but ever so adorable yoga where stretches and poses are performed while playful goats walk around and join in on the fun. It is as wacky as it is cute, and this event is welcome to all skill levels. Tickets start at $23.

SOMA Yoga -September 4 

Bliss Yoga, Encinitas

This special system of yoga includes static exercises that are designed to give you stronger muscles, joints, and tendons. Paired with a unique method to help drain your lymphatic system to clear out toxins, this could be the physical challenge you’ve been looking for. Tickets are $15

Thursday Sunset Yoga on the Cliffs – September 5

A relaxing evening on the gorgeous Sunset Cliffs of San Diego doing some yoga is exactly what you need. The tension-easing stretches paired with beautiful views will be the ultimate stress buster. Best part? This event is totally free.

Head over to Belching Beaver to enjoy a nice Vinyasa flow yoga session with the community. The event costs $15 per person, and following the class, participants can stay and enjoy 10% off food and beverages. 

Acupuncture Yoga – September 8

I Love My Beaches: Yoga & Beach Cleanup Summer Series – September 8

Ocean Beach Pier 

Protecting our beaches has never been more important than it is now, so why not do your part in helping while also enjoying a great yoga class? This yoga & beach cleanup session is a double whammy: good for your body and good for our environment! Tickets are $15, with all proceeds going to benefit the Ocean Conservancy. 

San Diego Metal Yoga – September 12 

Kensington Club 

Did you think metal and yoga don’t belong together? Think again. This class shucks off all yoga norms, bringing a unique event featuring high-energy metal music and a variety of yoga stretches and poses. Afterwards, enjoy a beer, cause you earned it. Tickets are $18.

September Full Harvest Moon Special Yoga Event – September 14 

Shelter Island 

This amazing event will have you practicing yoga under the soft glow of a full moon rising over downtown San Diego. Captivating and gorgeous, don’t miss out on this great event. Plus, it’s free!

Sunday Funday Yoga – September 15 

Hard Rock Hotel 

Flow-through a one-hour silent disco yoga class that is open to all skill levels. With tickets starting at $20, you can be sure you’re getting the most bang for your buck. You gain access to the silent disco after class, a complimentary mimosa, and all-day pool access along with discounts on brunch items at the hotel rooftop lounge. 

Yoga in the Vines – September 19 

Cheval Winery, Escondido 

Yoga, wine, and a beautiful outdoor setting. The perfect combination in my opinion. This one-hour yoga class begins at 6:00 PM and is followed by a wine tasting. Tickets are $20

One Love 8th Annual Charity Yoga Event – September 21 

Waterfront Park 

A giant outdoor yoga class also features a live concert by Trevor Hall, food and drink vendors, and a Wellness Garden with massage, acupuncture, and reiki being offered to all participants. Tickets start at $35, with proceeds for the event going to help support youth social justice efforts for foster youth. 

FAM FIT DAY – September 29 

The Movement Warehouse, Garnet Avenue 

Instilling good exercise habits in children is always a good idea, and this event is perfect for getting the whole family out and moving. It will kick off with a 30 minute HIIT boot camp with both kids and adults. To cool down, instructors will lead you through a 30-minute yoga flow, focusing on fun poses and stretches. Tickets start at $35
