It is a full weekend of events in San Diego as Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day are finally here. Get out and enjoy the sunshine with food and drink festivals and specials all around the county as everyone warms up their blenders and gets ready to celebrate!

Cinco de Mayo

North Park’s True North Tavern will be holding a TNT Taco Challenge in addition to some drink and food specials on Thursday. Then, if you make way to the Gaslamp Quarter, join in on the Cinco De Mayo Pubcrawl starting at the Taste/Thirst. Can’t make it tomorrow night? No worries. The pub crawl will happen again on Saturday night as well, so the fun last for two whole nights. Then head down to Chula Vista on Sunday for the 14th Annual Festival Cinco de Mayo for a day of  live music and entertainment which will also include Mother’s Red Carpet Treatment tent and Village Salsa Contest.

Culture, Art  & Music

More music and culture can be appreciated at SeaWorld this month with Viva La Musica as each weekend will feature Latin music festivals and authentic Latin-American food.

Spend the weekend frolicking through Balboa Park as Sue Gold presents “When It Doesn’t Rain” at Spanish Village. The reception is on May 6th from 6pm-9pm, but the exhibition of her 30 new watercolors will last through May 16th. Entry to the event is free with game admission, so be sure to head over and drink with members of Broken Lizard, the masterminds behind Beerfest and Super Troopers.
