Earth day is right around the corner on April 22, that doesn’t mean you should wait to celebrate! Check out these awesome events taking place throughout this month for you to show your appreciation for the planet.

San Diego’s Water: From Source to Tap – Ongoing

Take a visit to the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park to explore and learn about the sources of San Diego’s water reserves. This exhibit will have a focus on water conservation and preservation.

Junior Rangers at Silver Strand Beach – Ongoing

Take your kids out to Silver Strand Beach to participate in outdoor activities and earn their California State Parks Junior Badge.

Art Alive – April 13

The San Diego Museum of Art will be hosting its Art aLive exhibition showcasing nearly 100 floral interpretations of works of art. You can also head over to the Garden of Activities, which offers a museum-wide flower hunt with floral-inspired art projects for kids and families.

California State Parks Foundation Earth Day Celebration – April 13

Come on out to volunteer at various state parks across California including Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, South Carlsbad State Beach, Palomar Mountain State Park and more.

Nature Explorer Family Day – April 14

Celebrate our beautiful planet by taking part in outdoors activities and arts and crafts at the San Diego Natural History Museum with a focus on the most biodiverse regions of the country. Activities are included with museum admission.

Earth Day Festival – April 27

Taking place at the Alta Vista Botanical Gardens, this day will include connecting with nature with pottery, music, vendors, and outdoors kids activities to top off the day.

Creek to Bay Cleanup – April 27

Do you part in keeping our beautiful beaches clean and pristine by participating in a beach cleanup in more than 100 different sites across the county.

EarthFair – April 28

The annual EarthFair in Balboa Park is the largest free annual environmental fair in the world. In its 30th year, Earth Fair will be bringing tons of exciting activities to participate in all revolving around the planet. From crafts and entertainment to educational talks and showings, EarthFaire is one Earth Day celebration you won’t want to miss.
