Last Minute Places to Stay for Coachella

By  |

If you were lucky enough to snag passes for this year’s Coachella, you’re in for quite a weekend. The lineup for the festival in the valley is always impressive, and this year is no different. With artists like Lady Gaga, Bastille, Radio Head, Lorde and so much more, your trip to Indio is sure to be one to remember. Since Coachella is one of music’s most celebrated weekends, we want you to have the best experience possible. So, if you haven’t booked a hotel room or campsite for the festival yet, we found some places that are still available for both weekends for you to take advantage of.

ON-SITE CAMPING

Unfortunately, the only options for staying at the festival site are upwards of $2000. The campsites sold out quick, just like tickets, so if you don’t have a spot reserved or know someone who does, you’re out of luck. But, if you have the funds to stay in one of Coachella’s 2-person teepees at Lake Eldorado, you’d be attending in both style and luxury. The teepees come equipped with beds, pillows, and sleeping bags, and the area they reside in is private. You’d have access to your own showers, 24-hour concierge service, and much more. While the price is steep, a lot certainly comes with this package.

OFF-SITE CAMPING

There are four campsites within five miles of the Coachella grounds. Many may be sold out, so be sure to call or check online. Good luck.

Motorcoach Country Club

This upscale RV resort doesn’t have spots for tent camping, but there are a ton of privileges for those who have RVs. The staff is on-hand full-time and always on-site, and you’ll have access to pools, spa, and gym/fitness center. Spots start around $145.

Indian Waters RV Resort

Both RV camping and tent camping spots are available at this resort. There is a shuttle to take you around town, though it isn’t affiliated with Coachella. There’s late night swimming, salt water pools, showers and restrooms, and more. Spots start at $90 for tent sites and $99 for RV sites.

Indian Wells Carefree RV Resort

This resort also only allows RVs. Amenities include laundry facilities, gym, picnic tables and barbecues, a swimming pool and more. Spots start at $69.

Lake Cahuilla Recreation Area

Lake Cahuilla allows for RV camping and tent camping. You’ll have access to showers and restrooms, swimming pool, and activities like fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. Prices start at $50 for camping spots.

HOTELS

If you’re not looking for any time spent outdoors unless you’re at the festival, then we’ve found your options for a hotel stay in Indio.

Motel 6

While not the fanciest hotel in town, a motel 6 room for both weekends of Coachella starts at $280. Most, if not all, of the hotels in Indio are booked up this close to the festival, so being able to grab a room within a few miles of the festival this late would be a steal. So if you need a hotel room, book at Motel 6 now before the rest of the rooms run out.

We hope this helps you think about your upcoming trip to the desert! Book your stay as soon as you can to make sure you can get the best out of your Coachella weekend.
