What to expect at this year’s Coachella Valley Music Festival
The 12th annual Coachella Valley Music Festival is only one day away, this year’s festivities begin on Friday April 15th and end on Sunday April 17th. The festival’s set times have just been released and with that, festival-goers are buzzing about which artist cannot be missed.
Big names like the Chemical Brothers, Boys Noise, Kings of Leon, and Robyn are heading Friday’s act however, there does happen to be a lot of overlap between such amazing artists. So, Coachella goers have no choice but, to pick and choose their absolute favorites because sadly we all can’t be in two places at once.
There are great expectations for rising artists as well that tie into the festival’s indie roots. Up and coming stars such as Warpaint, which is an all female indie-rock group and Odd Future, which is a collective of a newer type of hip hop artists have been receiving great reviews and much attention from online music bloggers.
Other acts that are sure not to disappoint would include: Interpol, the Black Keys, the Strokes, Arcade Fire, and recently reunited Death From Above 1979. Be sure to check out as many of the festivals acts as desired but, also check out festival attractions and activities throughout the weekend. Art installations and various beer gardens and festival tents will be sure to provide a great time as well.
Here are a few tips to those that are going to attend this weekend’s festival. Make sure to secure your festival wristband to your right wrist and be careful not to tamper with the wristband. Golden Voice is taking extra precautions this year and the delicate wristband is something to be sure to pay careful attention to, fines will be applied to those that have not followed regulations. Also, as with every year in Coachella Valley, be sure to bring lots of sunscreen and water! This weekend’s temperatures have been forecasted well into the high 90s.
