50 Shades of Pop Stars: “I Don’t Want to Live Forever” Released

The anticipated film “Fifty Shades Darker” is coming to theaters this February. However, the collaborative music video “I Don’t Want to Live Forever,” by Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift has also caused fans to clench to the ends of their seats. Finally, the wait has come to an end because Swift and Malik released their music video at midnight.

Beginning with a distraught Malik, former One Directioner and current pop sensation, he trudges through the rain into the famous London’s St. Pancras Renaissance hotel and appears in clear opposition to the relentless paparazzi. Swift, also looking distraught, is in lingerie and heavily drinks champagne in dire hopelessness. The video continues by Zayn throwing champagne bottles and the plot remains mysteriously dark lacking a happy ending.

The video resembles the unrequited and fanciful romance between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades Darker.” Grant Singer, who also directed The Weeknd’s “StarBoy” and Ariana Grande’s “Let Me Love You,” directed this video and his representative story of Grey and Steele was told through Swift and Malik’s lustfully dramatic performance.

Swift and Malik’s “I Don’t Want to Live Forever” will be appearing on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack along with songs from many other well-known artists. Other artists will include, Halsey, Tove Lo, John Legend and Corinne Bailey Rae. From these artists alone, the soundtrack seems like it’s going to be one to beat and will reach a diverse fan base.

With the official video starring the popular celebrities Malik and Swift, there is an even more heightened anticipation for the release of Fifty Shades Darker. If you don’t already have plans for Feb. 10, or Valentines Day for that matter, make sure to purchase tickets soon!
