Try Something New! How about your hair do?

Just in time for the summer season, the lovely Jennifer Lawrence debuted her new cropped hair last weekend at the 24th Annual GLAAD Awards in Los Angeles. Before arriving on the red carpet for the GLAAD Awards, Lawrence got the urge to try something new and contacted celebrity hair stylist Mark Townsend to commission the mastery of her new do.

In an interview with Haper’sBazzar.com, Townsend explained how “…Jennifer showed up an hour before call time and as she opened the door she was like, ‘Mark, I want to cut it all off’.’ I was like, ‘What? Are we allowed to do that?’ And she said, ‘Of course, it’s my hair!'” Townsend states “As I cut, I lost track of how many times [Jennifer] said, ‘I love it!’ She was super excited. It’s the shortest her hair has been in her whole life.”

Lawrence’s assertive and playful approach for change proves that when it’s time to try something new, you just have to go for it! Lawrence walked down the red carpet sporting her David Koma Fall 2013 cocktail dress with a sheer neckline and sleeves while rocking her new do as Townsend describes as a “full-on shag, with bangs and a lot of face-framing layers.” and the crowd loved it!

Included in her evening at GLAAD, Lawrence presented former President Clinton with the Advocate for Change Award and shared a few laughs with Clinton who stated that “Jennifer looked like she was in the museum of natural history backstage. ‘This is what dinosaurs look like,'” he joked.

Overall, Lawrence made a splash at the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards who honor individuals, companies and creative content that promotes the visibility of the LGBT community. Ceremonies are held annually in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
