Little Italy’s Christmas Tree Lighting Dec. 5

By  |

Little Italy’s Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is taking place on Saturday, Dec. 5 on W. Fir between India Street and Kettner Boulevard. Celebrate the season during this beloved San Diego tradition and see Little Italy’s unique Christmas Tree—a 25-foot tower of over 1,100 gorgeous Poinsettias that will light up with over 2,000 lights—located in the center of Piazza Basilone.

DG1_0807The Little Italy Association will be calling in a few favors to the North Pole, and Santa Claus himself will be making a special appearance for meet and greets with all of the neighborhood kids and kids at heart starting at 4:00 p.m. The Christmas Tree will light up at 5:30 p.m. and the event will last until 8:00 p.m.

The night will be full of festive decorations, live music and entertainment, snacks, holiday beverages and more. Additionally, there will also be plenty of seasonal vendors selling holiday gifts and goodies—perfect for stocking stuffers! There’s a rumor of snow in the forecast in Little Italy but you’ll have to be there to see this Christmas magic.

San Diego resident for over 10 years, I now call this beautiful city home. Originally from the Bay Area, I'm a California girl at heart. I love the outdoors, fitness, food, and a good craft beer (from San Diego of course).
