PowPAC Opens “See How They Run”

seehowtheyrun

PowPAC, Poway’s Community Theatre, presents the humorous English play See How They Run, by Philip King. This farce is filled with plenty of laugh-out-loud twists and turns from mistaken identity to misplaced judgments. The silliness is sure to leave audiences in stitches as the action and humor move as fast as the multiple doors opening and closing on stage. The play opens July 10 and runs through Aug. 9.

“After last year’s success with No Sex Please, We’re British, we knew we had to bring back (director) Raylene Wall directing the funniest British farce we could find. This show has all the ingredients for another blockbuster,” says Debbie David, PowPAC’s Co-Artistic Director.

The show is set in the idyllic village of Merton-cum-Middlewick, where the village inhabitants are preparing themselves for the imminent threat of Nazi invasion. Resident nosy-parker and spinster, Miss Skillon, becomes convinced that her beloved vicar’s actress wife is having an affair and attempts to expose her. Add an escaped German prisoner of war, a handsome actor, the visiting Bishop of Lax, a rotund locum priest and some meddling neighbors and you have all the ingredients for a classic British comedy.

The play, based upon the nursery rhyme “Three Blind Mice,” has all the endurance of a marathon, with the funniness coming so fast and furious, audiences will be left exhausted at the end.
