Got March Madness? Local Bars Are Great Places to Watch the NCAA Tournament

It seems like everyone has March Maddness, and so do we. Whether you’ve already filled out your bracket, are betting on the games, rooting on your college team, or just enjoying the atmosphere, there’s no questioning that March is a fun time for college hoops fans.

If you’re looking for a great place to watch the games, there are a number of sports bars in San Diego that we recommend.

Players Sports Bar
Area: Clairemont Mesa
Coverage: Players has 5o satellites playing on over 600 sq. ft. of TV screens. They even have 3D TV.
Food: Average sports bar food.

McGregor’s Grille and Ale House
Area: Mission Valley
Coverage: 20+ HD TVs covering the NCAA tournament
Food: Above average food. Good happy hour, and fish tacos are recommended.

Bull Pen Bar and Grill
Area: Kearny Mesa
Coverage: Over 45 flat screen televisions and an HD projection screen
Food: Good mix of food and great drink specials

Tripple Crown Pub
Area: Normal Heights
Coverage: 20 TVs with a lot of coverage
Food: Normal bar food, but excellent beer selection

The Commons Bar
Area
: Gaslamp
Coverage:  TV’s to catch your favorite game and a running LED billboard keeping you up to speed on the latest news, info, and scores
Food: Great food, especially wings. They also have a brunch menu and drink specials (brunch served until 1pm)
Yelp rating: 3 1/2 stars (this place recently opened, which we think skews the numbers)
