Today’s Entertainer Quickie is a wild one.

David Letterman Threatened on Jihadist Website

Earlier this week, a threat against late-night talk show host David Letterman was found on an al-Qaeda message board, urging Muslim followers to “cut the tongue” of the comedian because of a joke he made on his show.

The contributor, who identified himself as Umar al-Basrawi, posted the threat in response to a joke Letterman had made about the death of Bin Laden’s successor, Ilyas Kashmiri.

Al-Basrawi posted: “Is there not among you a Sayyid Nosair al-Mairi … to cut the tongue of this lowly Jew and shut it forever?”  (read the whole post here)  Letterman, for the record, is not a Jew.

Letterman, no stranger to threats, has been informed of the posting, and the FBI is reportedly investigating the threat.  “The concern is that there is someone who will read it, agree with it and say, ‘I want to be the Sayyid Nosair of 2011 and kill David Letterman,'” Adam Raisman, an analyst for Site Monitoring Service says.

There was no comment from CBS or Letterman.

Matthew McConaughey to Strip with Channing Tatum

Matthew McConaughey has just signed on to star with Channing Tatum in the upcoming male stripper-themed film, “Magic Mike.”  Ladies, you are welcome.

The film, directed by Steven Soderbergh (of “Ocean’s Eleven” fame), is loosely based on Tatum’s own experiences working as a teen male stripper in Tampa.

“This was a wild and pivotal time in my life and I couldn’t be more thrilled to go down the rabbit hole with Steven,” Tatum, 31, told press.

McConaughey, 41, will play a former exotic dancer named Dallas who owns the strip club where Tatum’s title character, Magic Mike, works.  They will be joined by British actor Alex Pettyfer, 21, who stars as one of Mike’s proteges.

The film is expected to hit theaters summer 2012.

Anderson Cooper Gets the Giggles over Gerard Depardieu

Anderson Cooper, 44-year-old journalist who hosts “The RidicuList” segment for CNN, has seen his fair share of ridiculous stories.

However, reporting on how Golden Globe-winning French actor Gerard Depardieu reportedly urinated in a plane’s cabin while it was delayed on the tarmac sent Cooper into an uncontrollable giggle fit during his segment for almost a minute straight.

“Some unlucky cleaning crew had to deal with the Golden Globe-winning tinkle. All I can say is they should thank their lucky stars it wasn’t DepardTwo,” Cooper said during the pun-filled report.

“Alright sorry … this has actually never happened to me,” Anderson added while erupting into laughter.
