If you’re tying to find the perfect family friendly summer event, look no further than Hotel Del’s Southern California Clambake. The Hotel Del hosts this event every year and puts a Southern California twist on the traditional east coast classic. A clam bake is a traditional method of cooking seafood such as lobster, mussels, crabs, soft-shell clams. If you love seafood and beautiful views of the ocean, you’ll want to stop by. The Hotel Del hosts the event once a month throughout the summer. If you can’t make the event this week on Jun 30th, be sure to mark your calendar for another date: July 28th, August 18th, or September 15th.

So, what’s on the menu? The shellfish feast will feature some of Executive Chef John Shelton’s coastal favorites.

Chilled: Oysters on the half shell, ceviches
Boiled: Lobster tails, Local Prawns, Clams, Potatoes, Corn on the Cob and Local Vegetables

The seafood spread will be paired with a local beer or signature cocktail. The California Clambake includes two complimentary drinks per person (for guests 21+) and a cash bar will also be available.

Besides the fresh seafood, the clambake will also feature live entertainment and beach games. Gonzo Gonzales is a local musician who regularly plays at the Del’s Babcock and Story Bar, a historic Coronado lounge named for the hotel’s visionary founders. The gentle sounds of Gonzo’s voice and guitar will pair perfectly with the sunset backdrop of a summer night in Coronado.

Following the Clambake and after the sunset, the night will continue with a summer movie on the beach the beach. You can bring your beach blanket and cozy up on the sand, or you can purchase VIP seats at a private bonfire while lounging in a glamorous Del daybed. Clambake guests who purchase VIP seats are guaranteed front row. On June 30th, the Del will be featuring Raiders of the Lost Ark.
