Competitors from six cities throughout the U.S. will be challenged to create a movie-inspired cocktail. The 2013 Regional Finals are being held in six cities: Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, Seattle, Austin and San Diego. 15 bartenders from each location will be chosen to “audition” their recipe during a regional casting in front of local fans and a jury made up of mixology gurus, including the USBG Local Chapter President. The top two bartenders from each city will then be invited to compete in the U.S. Finals in New Orleans – to take place on July 18, 2013 at Tales of the Cocktail.

The legend of amaretto liqueur, of which Disaronno is the world’s premiere brand, goes back to 1525. Bernardino Luini, a student of da Vinci, was painting a fresco of the Madonna of Miracles in the town of Saronno. A beautiful local innkeeper was his model and inspiration. She returned the honor of his painting her by giving him a delicate, fragrant liquor of amber color, amaretto.
