Asian Film Foundation Shows ‘Shadow Magic’

On Aug. 6, The San Diego Museum of Art and the San Diego Asian Film Foundation present Shadow Magic, a story about the introduction of the cinema in Beijing, China in 1902 when a young portrait photographer befriends a newly-arrived Englishman with a projector, camera and plans to open the Shadow Magic theatre.

Bring a blanket and your picnic basket and enjoy SDMA’s annual free film series, which takes place on the lawn adjacent to the Museum. Please note that this evening’s film is presented with subtitles. Screen on the Green is made possible through the generous support of Lyn and Phil Gildred.
