Tour the Incredible Tastes of Adams Avenue June 29

By  |

The 14th Annual Taste of Adams Avenue will take place Sunday, June 29 from 11:00 to 3:00 pm along Adams Avenue from University Heights through Normal Heights to Kensington. Word to the wise, it may take you all four hours to get through the massive list of participating restaurants.

If you’re not familiar with the neighborhood, it’s one of the hottest areas for beer, cocktails, and dining. Adams Avenue spans between University Heights, Normal Heights, and Kensington. There really is something for everyone on Adams Avenue, whether you’re looking for new American, classic American, oysters, Mexican, craft cocktails, pizza, beer, wine, coffee, sushi, or ice cream.

With new restaurants popping up often, it could take you months to eat your way down Adams Avenue. But don’t fret — you can sample 29 of the hottest restaurants along Adams Avenue in one day. Just make sure to bring an empty stomach and an adventurous spirit.

This year’s gastro tour of Adams Avenue features 29 restaurants, coffee houses, wine bars, and unique eateries in one of San Diego’s significant and celebrated neighborhoods.

If you scroll through the list below, it may look daunting. But as a frequenter of these fine neighborhood establishments, here’s some advice…

Thirsty? Hit up Dark Horse Coffee Roasters, Liquid Eden, Senor Mangos, and for margaritas, Ponce’s.

Want something refreshing? Based on last year’s Taste of Adams, you’ll want to try Cafe 21, Mariposa Ice Cream (be sure to try Tam’s Thailand Food while you wait in line. Say “hi” to Tam. She’s got one big personality that you won’t want to miss), Viva Pops, Village Vino and Sabuku Sushi.

Must-stop spots include Blind Lady Ale House (feel free to stay for a beer too), Daofu, Fish Public, Haven Pizzeria, Hanna’s Gourmet, Kensington Cafe, and a favorite San Diego restaurant, Cafe 21 (mentioned above, but well worth mentioning again).

Taste of Adams Avenue tickets are $35 in advance, and $40 day of the event. Advance tickets may be purchased online at www.tasteofadams.com.

Food lovers can access their favorite restaurants by foot, bike, or by complimentary trolley service available along Adams Avenue during the event.

San Diego resident for over 10 years, I now call this beautiful city home. Originally from the Bay Area, I'm a California girl at heart. I love the outdoors, fitness, food, and a good craft beer (from San Diego of course).
