Recapping Rock The Bells 2009

By  |

The Rock The Bells tour presented by Guerrilla Union made it’s annual stop near San Diego on August 8th at the San Manuel Amphitheater.

With the gorgeous setting of the San Bernadino Mountains as the backdrop, Rock The Bells was complete with two stages and a set spanning over 10 hours featuring 27 acts. Accompanying the live presentation were traditional vendor booths within the venue. Attendees could enjoy all the artist merchandise they could think of, along with fair style food and beverage for appropriate between-act grubbing.

Orchestra, loge and lawn seats were available and the view and sound from all aspects of the arena provided for a solid presentation. This year, 7-11 stores offered sale of lawn seats as a special promotion for only $7.11, which hopefully they’ll do again next year.

As the night progressed the house got packed, but the mood amongst all attendees was mutual, just to enjoy the great performances in harmony.

The show included such impressive headliners as Busta Ryhmes, Big Boi, Tech N9ne, The Roots and Slaughterhouse. As the night came to an end fans were treated to an epic performance of Nas & Damian Marley on stage together.

Closing the show, as his only appearance on the Rock The Bells tour was L.A.’s own Ice Cube’s hour long set complete with all the hits taking us back to the nineties.
