Lamar Odom speaks about trade drama

Lamar Odom is not happy.  He did not show up to the first day of Lakers training camp this morning, according to Los Angeles Times.

This is following drama surrounding a failed trade deal that would have sent Odom to New Orleans and Pau Gasol to Houston, in exchange for the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring Hornets all-star guard Chris Paul.  The NBA denied this three-team trade, citing “basketball reasons.”

Odom, 32, has played power forward for the Lakers for the past seven season.  He told the LA Times yesterday, “They [The Lakers] don’t want my services, for whatever reason…I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.  I was proud to be a Laker, so I’ll try to help them in the process as much as possible.”

Odom also told ESPN that perhaps it was his reality television career with wife Khloe Kardashian on their E! network show,”Khloe and Lamar”, that may have angered Lakers officials.

Michelle Duggar, star of “19 Kids and Counting” has miscarriage

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, stars of the TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting”, were expecting to add a 20th member to their already large family when they received sad news on Thursday during a routine check up at the doctors.  Their child no longer had a heartbeat.

“Our doctor said it was wise to let this miscarriage happen naturally,” says Michelle, 45.  “And so that is what we are going to do.”

Medical experts say that it was most likely Michelle’s advanced age, rather than the fact that she had 19 children before, that put her at a greater risk of miscarriage.  This is Michelle’s second miscarriage (the first came during her second pregnancy).

“I feel like my heart broke, telling my children,” she told People. “We have all been so excited about this baby and looking forward to April coming around and having a new little one in our arms. That was the most difficult. The Lord is the giver of life and he can choose when that life is ready to go on and be with Him.”

The Duggars told People Magazine that they plan to have a funeral service and to give the child a name once they learn what its sex would have been.
