Google Logo is Changing

By  |

Announced today on Google’s official blog, the six letters that have become synonymous with search, will have a new look. They said, “Google has changed a lot over the past 17 years—from the range of our products to the evolution of their look and feel. And today we’re changing things up once again.”

The logo is changing, but so is what Goolge is calling its identity family. That means a streamlined look across all platforms, for all uses. For example, when you use “Okay Google” on your Android smartphone, the microphone icon will be new. In addition, the little blue “g” icon will be replaced with a four-color “G.” There are also corresponding animations with each iteration of the logo, which indicates to the user that Google is working for you, to find what you need, in the ever-evolving world of the web.

In the coming months, look for these changes to permeate across all of Google’s platforms, from Search, Maps, Gmail, Chrome to many others.

San Diego resident for over 10 years, I now call this beautiful city home. Originally from the Bay Area, I'm a California girl at heart. I love the outdoors, fitness, food, and a good craft beer (from San Diego of course).
