The Bachelor Recap – Week 5

By  |

Things are starting to get pretty juicy on this season of The Bachelor. Nick definitely has his hands full, not only with close to 20 women wanting his love and a rose, but the riff between Taylor and Corrine continues in this week’s episode. “This is the most anticipated showdown of the season,” says host Chris Harrison. If only we could skip the drama and go straight to the rose ceremony!

But that’s not how The Bachelor works; they keep us on the edges of our seats and let the drama build. But until we know who goes home for sure, we have to watch Corinne pull Nick aside again, and again, trash talking Taylor and vice versa.

CORINNE VS. TAYLOR: THE SAGA CONTINUES

Nick’s reaction to Corinne’s opinion about Taylor was pretty standard for a guy’s response, “Uh-huh, uh-huh, OK.” He then thanked her for her honesty. Is he seriously buying her innocent act?

Is he a sucker, or just keeping her on the show for the ratings? Either way, things are getting quite steamy as the feud continues…

GROUP DATE: WHO SAYS GOODBYE?

Taylor got the rose of the group date (her face shows it all). She and 11 other women are still on the show. Astrid and Sarah headed home, and the rest of the ladies are headed to New Orleans.

RACHEL’S ONE ON ONE

Rachel got her first one on one date with Nick in New Orleans this week. They strolled through the French Market sampling oysters, played with alligator heads, and smooched all over the place for tourists and non-tourists to see.

“My chemistry with Rachel is probably the most explosive chemistry I have at this point with any of the women,” says Nick. “She kind of has it all.” Rachel is definitely a huge contender to take the romance to the end. The night finished off with Nick offering her a rose and saying, “I might be breaking the rules by saying this but I’m super into you.”

HAUNTED HOUSE GROUP DATE

The group date takes place at Houmas House Plantation, which is not only a historic mansion but is said to be one of the most haunted houses in Louisiana. The group is greeted by a scary host, who tells them about the ghost of a little girl from the 1800s who roams the house, haunting visitors.

He warned the girls to not touch any items of the little girls because they could anger the spirit. Maybe this date wasn’t such a good idea?

CORINNE, NICK, AND TAYLOR GO ON A DATE…AWKWARD

As is Bachelor style, the two ladies who cause the most drama found themselves on the two-on-one date with Nick. They spend the time talking to Nick about each other.

In the end and in a shocking twist, Nick sends Taylor home, and this season’s “villain” lives to stay another week.

TO BE CONTINUED…

The episode ended with Nick and Corinne’s dinner date, featuring a surprise guest by Taylor. She returns to confront Nick, and we are left with a cliffhanger.

Tune in next week to see what Taylor has to say, and more.

The Bachelor airs Monday’s on ABC at 8:00 p.m.
