Jennifer Lopez Searches for New Talent

By  |

With shows such as American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, The Voice, America’s Got Talent, and the X-Factor, it is safe to say that we are a society obsessed with discovering talents. Jennifer Lopez certainly isn’t falling far behind in this craze. After judging for American Idol, Lopez is now set on standing on her own and creating her own show. Along with husband Marc Anthony, they will try finding the next Latin star through their new reality TV show, ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen.

So what sets this show apart from all these other talent discovering shows? Well, instead of holding auditions, J-Lo along with husband and tour director Jamie King will actually be traveling throughout North, Central, and South America visiting 21 Latin American countries to physically look for the talents themselves. The three will hit the road and as Anthony says are, “”literally being guided by the [local] people,” to find talented individuals.

The trio will visit Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Paraguay, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Uruguay, Aruba and the United States between July and August to start their search. During their trip, they will be heading to “places people wouldn’t normally look, where all of this rich talent lives and wouldn’t normally be discovered”.

Broadening the scope of the reality show, they are also allowing people to submit videos through youtube or to nominate candidates through facebook, so if you are dying to have the trio notice you, just send in your youtube video.

Those chosen by J-Lo, Marc Anthony, and Jamie King will then travel back to Hollywood where they will be coached in preparation for the live show. ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen will be taped in three different languages, English, Spanish, and Portuguese and will be broadcasted in all 21 countries. The show is expected to air live early 2012.
