Kate Beckinsale officially terminates marriage
It’s been a long time in the making.
Finally, after a year of separation, Kate Beckinsale has divorced her now ex-husband, Len Wiseman.
Beckinsale and Wiseman both owe much their fame to their roles in the vampiric Underworld series. Wiseman, who reportedly signed the papers while citing ‘irreconcilable differences,’ has produced four of the five installments to the popular movie franchise with the fifth to release on January 6, 2017.
In fact, Wiseman has accrued a knack for executively producing popular movies and TV shows, including: Sleepy Hollow, Lucifer, Total Recall, and the pilot episode for Hawaii Five-O.
Beckinsale has been no slouch in her own right, taking on pivotal roles in The Aviator and Pearl Harbor to go along with the role of Selene in all of the Underworld movies.
Despite their touted accomplishments, their relationship started encountering turbulence after numerous fights during the nadir of their marriage. Their split wasn’t reported until months after the separation in November of 2015.
However, to their credence, Wiseman and Beckinsale maintained an 11 year marriage before the split. The pair initially met on the set of Underworld in 2003 before they wed in May of 2004. Shortly after the split, Wiseman was photographed with model and actress CJ Franco, which lends to the possibility of a cheating scenario before the breakup occurred.
Interestingly enough, the melodrama of their past has not seemed to deter the progress of the aforementioned fifth installment of the series, Underworld: Blood Wars, which has completed filming with Beckinsale leading the main role and Wiseman on the production team.
It seems that the ex-husband has moved on as Beckinsale has yet to engage in a reported relationship since the breakup, but we expect there to be more news on her as well as the future of her acting career in the near future.
