Jay Z is now JAY-Z

By  |

One might have to agree that a simple style change to one’s name doesn’t make a difference, but if you’re Jay Z, it definitely does. Four years ago, Jay Z dropped the hyphen from his name, but he recently decided to bring it back. Also, he’s decided to make his name in entirely uppercase letters, so he will now officially be called JAY-Z.

Why would JAY-Z change his name, you ask? Sources believed that the name change had something to do with the birth of the twins. However, it was just confirmed that JAY-Z actually decided to change his name due to his upcoming album. According to Pitchfork, JAY-Z made the name change in advance of his new album titled, 4:44. This album is expected to come to Tidal on June 30, so get ready for JAY-Z’s new name and new music.

Considering we haven’t been given confirmation from Beyonce or JAY-Z personally regarding the pregnancy, JAY-Z is currently in the limelight. Rumor has it that 4:44 will be a poetic response to Beyonce’s Lemonade album, in which she expressed theories of his adultery in the marriage. Check out his trailer for 4:44 on Refinery29, which features some notable artists like Danny Glover, Mahershala Ali, and Lupita Nyong’o.

We can assume that the capital letters in the name change demonstrate his new and improved boldness in the album 4.44. But, we won’t know for sure until June 30 when the whole album drops. Stay tuned for the progress of JAY-Z’s album with SD Entertainer.

Hopefully, the Knowles family will also speak out about the twins sometime soon, considering the only person who has said anything is Beyonce’s Dad. We are anxiously awaiting another photo shoot with the family and are eager to find out what their names are. We’ll let you know as soon as we know. In the meantime, get excited for JAY-Z’s new album.
