Kristin Cavallari and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler got engaged in Cabo San Lucas over the Easter weekend and according to People, “He surprised her with a quick trip to Cabo [San Lucas] to ask her to marry him” a source shares.

Cutler reportedly asked Cavallari to marry him with a 5.2 carat diamond engagement ring.  The couple started dating last fall.

Cavallari, 24, was born in Denver, Colorado, the middle of three children.  When her parents were divorced, she moved with her mother to Illinois then moved to California to live with her father in Laguna Beach.  After attending freshman year at Santa Margarita Catholic High, her father switched her to Laguna Beach High after she attended a Driver’s Ed course there.

Famous by the MTV reality shows “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills,” Cavallari has continued acting and doing charity work, including her charity project, One Kid One World, where she has teamed up with footwear firm Shoe Dazzle to design a pair of flowered wedges, the  “Bardot,” and give 100% of the profit to her charity.

From their website, One Kid One World has reached out to the children of Kenya, El Salvador and Sudan with a simple mission to “make a difference in the lives of children in need around the globe: One world, one school, one kid, at a time. One Kid One World’s goal is to provide an education to children in impoverished communities through the creation of academic and athletic programs…One soccer ball and one notebook can have a profound affect on the lives of kids who have nothing. Yes, it’s a little victory but our goal is to make all of those little victories add up to one big one.”

One Kid One World has raised over $450,000 since 2006 with over 95% going directly to their international projects.  Their stats report touching the lives of 3,000 plus students through building new classrooms, paying for hundreds of them to attend school, paying teachers salaries, building athletic programs and distributing books, desks, school supplies, solar power and clean water to thousands more.
