Wiz Khalifa’s ‘Taylor Allderdice’ mix-tape released, crashes site

By  |

Wiz KhalifaWiz Khalifa has apologized for his last album after critics declared it too “mainstream driven” and with tracks like Rolling Papers no one can blame them.  Despite the setback the American rapper has claimed that he returned to the style that fueled albums like Kush and Orange Juice for the mixtape. Since the news the fans responded with pandemonium.  When Khalifa tweeted the link around 9pm on Tuesday night so many fans attempted to download the free music that the site ended up crashing.  In response the rapper tweeted, “Yea Taylors, We Crashed That S***!!!”  It would appear that fans have forgiven the artist for his last production and look forward to more hard-hitting music from him.  On top of that, fans are still apparently trying to download the mixtape because the site (despite being rebooted) loads so slowly.

The mixtape is named after Khalifa’s high school Taylor Allderdice.  After having a childhood where he moved around a lot, living in Germany, Japan, and the U.K, the rapper’s family settled in Pittsburg where Khalifa attended the high school.  It was after attending the school that he started producing music.  Almost immediately after he graduated from Taylor he began his career as a musician releasing his first mixtape in 2005 with the title Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania.  Since gaining buzz in Pittsburgh he has exploded to become a well-known musician with songs charting on the Rhythmic Top 40 and Hot Rap Charts as well as tracks that have appeared on the Billboard Hot 100.

Taylor Allderdice features other artists such as Rick Ross, Chevy Woods, Juicy J, Smoke Dza, and Amber Rose.  It looks like Wiz’s new model fiancee has a voice.  The tape  serves as a taste of what Khalifa’s next studio album, O.N.I.F.C. , will be like.  The date for the release of One N**** in First Class has yet to be announced, but if the popularity of the mixtape is any indication, it will surely be highly anticipated by Khalifa’s fans.
